This month, we highlight the importance of women’s health. Your health is one of the most important things in your life. Living a healthy lifestyle can help with productivity, pursuing hobbies, and spending time with friends and family. Practicing healthy habits can help your physical, mental, social, and emotional health. 

Your health is a top priority. Practice healthy habits by following these key tips:

  • Enjoy a healthy and balanced diet: Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fat free or low-fat milk, and lean meats into your diet.
  • Get active: The CDC recommends at least 2 hours and 30 minutes each week of physical activity. Some examples of physical activity include walking, running, swimming, hiking, or biking.
  • Prioritize Mental Health: Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Some ways to care for your mental health include connecting with friends and family, reading a book, or going on a hike.  
  • Get enough rest: Practicing good sleep habits can help your overall health. Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night.
  • Avoid smoking, vaping, and use of tobacco products.

Taking these small steps can encourage and support a healthy lifestyle. It is important to take care of your health each day. Following these tips can help you feel more productive and more energized each day. Be sure to make an appointment with your primary care provider to stay up to date on annual screenings and exams.
